HEALTH AND HYGIENE WEEK

Educating children on good hygiene is the best way to avoid the spread of infection & disorders and not just for childhood complaints, teaching the principles of correct hygiene at an early age can keep individuals healthy in later life.
Hence, Fitness Fun - Health & Hygiene Week has been conducted to incorporate and strengthen the habits of personal hygiene among the children.

 
DAY I : SESSION BY DR. SHIVESH KUMAR
A fruitful session took place today by Dr. Shivesh Kumar through which he gave a detailed explanation to the children on personal cleanliness, a special emphasis was given on why & how to clean hands through step-by-step demonsration which was actually enjoyed by our tiny tots. It was a fun oriented learning by the students.

Day II : EAT HEALTHY - BALANCED DIET
There's no diet that will do, what eating healthy will do for you.
Good nutrition is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. Combined with physical activity our diet can help us to reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce risk of chronic diseases and promote overall health. 
So, to make the children aware of an adequate & varied diet to keep healthy, an educational talk was delivered by Dietician Ms. Preeti Bali in which she described about Balanced Diet, eating healthy and home made food. It was an interactive and very useful session for the kids as they took keen interest in learning new things about balanced food.

 

DAY III : HAND WASHING DAY
Hand sanitation is by far the best way to prevent germs from spreading & to keep kids from getting sick.
The use of hand sanitiser is a habit that can help keep us all exposed to fewer germs & therefore may decrease our chance of illness. So, to inculcate this habit in children, they were made to use hand sanitiser by the Class Teacher.

 

DAY IV : AEROBICS : FEEL GREAT, GET SWEATY & LET'S PROTECT OURSELVES
Aerobic dancing is a great way to have fun for children as they naturally have loads of energy, and this form of movement helps them channel their instinct to move in a productive & invigorating way. 
So, today the students of Candyyfloss were enthralled with the exciting and innovative musical exercises. We started off moving with slow movements which prepared the little ones for more vigorous activities by making them more active and also, by boosting their energy level to a great extent. 
Apart from the activity mentioned above, a pep talk on 'Let's protect ourselves' was also given to the children through which recapitulation on personal hygiene was done and also, the students were asked to use mosquito repellent patches, bands & odomos in order to get rid of on going diseases like Dengue, chikungunya etc.

 

DAY V : YOGA DAY
In an endeavour to participate actively in the 'Fitness Fun - Health & Hygiene Week', Candyyfloss organised Yoga Session for its students. The students were educated on the importance of yoga. They were explained that yoga helps in maintaining not only physical and mental health but also a healthy social life. The students were taught basic Aasanas starting with warming up and stretching followed by 'Om chanting' and 'Suraya Namaskar'.
